Yelena is an intern with our office.  Her areas of interest are general civil litigation and immigration law.

She is a third-year law student at University of San Francisco School of Law.  Yelena graduated from University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Political Science with emphasis on Public Policy. After graduation, she worked full-time for three and a half years as an immigration legal assistant for a well-known immigration law firm in downtown San Francisco. Her main area of concentration was on assisting people in obtaining asylum status in the United States through the USCIS Asylum Office, the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She assisted in drafting both declarations and memorandums to the Executive Office for Immigration Review in those cases. She also worked on cases involving defense from deportation. Additionally, she assisted the lead attorney in preparing petitions for nonimmigrant visas, as well as Green Card and citizenship applications. Yelena has vast experience in all aspects of immigration law.

Yelena will graduate from law school in 2012. When she obtains her law license, she would like to continue developing her skills and expanding her knowledge in all matters involving general civil litigation. She would also like to continue assisting people in obtaining valid immigration status in the United States through legally available channels.
